According to legend, Treasure Island got it's name from a few dishonest property owners who in an attempt to boost property sales claimed to have found wooden chests on the beach filled with treasures. News quickly spread and the city came to be known as Treasure Island.

John's Pass in Madeira Beach has restaurants, shopping, an arcade and more. It is often crowded, so plan to go early in the day. Most parking is paid parking and prices can be steep.
